Can't log on to user profile

Hello, can anyone help me?

My pc recently died whilst running a backup, so now i have no backup.

Anyway, upon restarting after this issue, I can't log into my user
account fully. I can get to a plain black desktop and I get this message
in a bubble "Your user profile was not loaded correctly. You have been
logged on with the default profile for the system. Please see the event
log for details or contact your system administrator"

I can't access my files of programs

What can I do??

I can't carry out the process you gave me as under C\Users\ My profile
is not there. I found the appropriate profile in the registry and
deleted it but the profile was not recreated upon restart. Any ideas?

The profile, I can handle losing but is there any way I can recover my
files?

have you trired to restore the PC also you might try see if your profile
is listed in the system properties user profiles menu

Unfortunatly I cannot restore the pc as it died whilst running a backup
which has left me with no backup.

but the restore points are stored "in vista" so if you have a vista
recovery cd then you should be able to restore the system another
question i had is, have you activated the bulit in administrator account

I ran system restore but it didn't help. I can only log into the admin
account. Thu two other users just say logging out as soon as you click
on them.

Were you able to boot into Safe Mode to do the tutorial or create
another administrator account in?
