So far googling has suggested I create an Administrator account which I did
and then delete it but it still says it's in use by another program and
won't delete. Also tried booting in safe mode as administraor but still
    can't delete the folder (1.3Gb)

    I suggest leaving it alone.

    Hi Trevor,

    Download Process Explorer from:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

Use it to determine what program has the folder in use. Disable or shutdown
that program and then you should be able to delete the folder.

Be aware that the folder may be critical to the program's running so removal
of it may result in not being able to run that program any longer. I suspect
that perhaps the program was initially installed to the desktop rather than
the Program Files directory, and if so then the only real solution is to
uninstall the program and then reinstall it to the proper directory.

Have done this but theres nothing there resembling the name of the folder.
It was never installed to this PC.

    Trevor,

Download & install 'Unlocker'. Then right-click the folder in question and
click 'Unlocker'. From the pull-down menu select 'Delete', click OK.

    Download: www.filehippo.com/download_unlocker
