Hello everyone. I was hoping someone could help me out on this problem. My laptop recently stopped connecting to the internet. At first i thought it might be my router but alas my ps3 can still wirelessly connect and also when i put a ethernet cord to my laptop it still couldn't get internet. It says its connected locally but i can't see any computers on the network. It really has me stumped and would appreciate any help.

You seem to have two issues here. One is an inability to see other computers on some form of network and the other is the inability to get on the internet.

Have you looked at the TCP/IP settings for your wireless network to make certain that it is set to obtain an IP address automatically.

The first thing I would do is reset the modem (or the router if it is a combined unit) and see if that helps. (Unplug the modem and then push the reset button. Allow about 30 seconds and then plug it back in and allow it to fully reset. Usually within 2 minutes,)

Well right now I'm at my college and was trying to connect and at first it didn't connect. I left it on for a while while i was on here (via a school computer) and tryed it again. It worked, connected just fine. So I think your right it probably is with my home network. I just didn't understand how my ps3 could connect wireless just fine but my laptop couldn't connect wireless or through Ethernet.

Thank you, I will try when i get home and let you know the results!!

It could simply mean that the PS2 has retained the correct settings while your laptop has not. Make sure you check the wireless network settings.
