Calendar Gadget Gone

Discussion in 'Windows Vista' started by C and A Bredt, Jun 16, 2009.

  1. I used to have a Calendar Gadget displaying on my Vista Home Premium
Sidebar. Someone in my house decided to remove it by opening the box that
shows the Gadget Gallery, right clicked on the calendar, then clicked
    Uninstall.

How do I get it back?

    Thanks, CB

    C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Settings.ini

    Search for

    PickerDefaultPackageSkipList

Change it to look like this:

    PickerDefaultPackageSkipList=""

I was going to say right click the sidebar, pull up properties, and tap the
'restore gadgets installed with windows', but mine is grayed out. That
suggestion is still a good one if it isn't grayed out on you. I have no idea
    why it's grayed on mine.
And can't find how to restore that link . My 1st thought would be a reboot, and
check to see if it's gray then.

It is grayed out because all the gadgets that were installed in Vista are
    still there.
It will be available if any one of them is uninstalled so your suggestion to
    check that was good.
