Cable to transfer WAV file to computer? (WSRToolkit)

The cable from my Olympus DS-5000 digital recorder?

I may want to transfer a WAV speech file from my recorder
to my computer, where it might wind up being converted
to a text file by Marty's "WSRToolkit".

Have not decided yet whether or not to buy the toolkit.

Does the cable plug into the computers USB socket?

....or into the earphone mini plug of the computer.
    (the so-called "line-in" mini plug)

Do not want to buy Marty's "H2" digital recorder, as my
DS-5000 is far superior to the H2.

(or to the Philips 9600 for that matter)

Not if the WSRToolkit _requires_ one particular
method of file transfer, in order to convert the file
    to text.

Common methed of converting the speech file to text
is that the recorder *manufacturer* supplies a
special driver program to allow his recorder to work
    with a particular speech app.

In the case of the Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech app,
Olympus supplies a disk for purchase, "DSS Player Pro",
which allows their DS-5000 recorder to work with
    Dragon.
(important - update that to the most
recent version after installing the driver)

Olympus does *NOT* sell a driver disk to allow their
DS-5000 recorder to work with Vista Speech. (WSR)

Now the "WSRToolkit" comes along, promising that a
recorder can be used with Vista Speech, (WSR) -
but offering no information about exactly what is
necessary in order to get that to work.

No cabling information about how to connect the
    recorder to the computer.

No information about which brands of digital recorders
will work with their WSRToolkit software.

Sorry, but I refuse to buy a pig in a poke, No Sale on
WSRToolkit until/unless they supply needed info,
which they do not supply at their website.

This tirade not aimed at you, it is aimed at a website
that promises digital recorder capability, without
going into needed details as to exactly how to achieve
    that capability.

    Shoddy marketing, in my opinion.

BTW, thanks for attempting to help.

This is a hardware problem, not a Vista concern.
