Hi, I'm new to this forum and basically I joined because I'm at my wit's
end with a Blue Screen (BSoD) problem.

I'm using Windows Vista on a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile laptop.

I have not yet discovered what causes the Blue Screen to appear but I
have to switch of the laptop everytime it happens.

Error codes from BSoD message are displayed as:

    TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
    *** STOP: 0X0000008E (0XC0000005, 0XA525F2F8, 0XAAFC7895,
    0X00000000)

Any help or advice on what is causing this and how to stop it will be
    greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Chris

My favorite place to start researching Stop Code errors is AumHa:
    TROUBLESHOOTING WINDOWS STOP MESSAGES

Or paste the Stop Code into your favorite search engine. Microsoft's new
Bing get 34,200 hits. Check out some of those and then post back with some
    more relevant details.

That code, KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, almost always points to
hardware problems, not software, and the first parameter, 0XC0000005, points
to memory, so you might start there.

The 0X0000008E corresponds to the following error

    Bug Check 0x8E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

and the 0XC0000005 to a memory access violation (same article).

Which roughly translated means you have a dodgy driver for some device or
program. The particular driver may be indicated along with the error message
(they usually end in .sys and often appear on the same blue screen). Once
you know the guilty driver, the issue generally becomes easier to resolve.

You will need to have a boot CD/DVD that has the Microsoft Memory Tester.
It will usually rapidly identify faulty RAM.
If that is not the problem then see if you can stably boot into safe mode
and uninstall the video driver, the number one cause of driver related
    BSODs.
Reboot normally with a VGA driver and install the latest version of your
    machine's video driver.
Unfortunately hard drive failure can also be the cause of BSODs,
particularly if your machine boots partly, boots and then has been more and
    more rapidly going BSOD.

    Hi chris,

Typically a kernel mode driver fault, but could also be bad memory. Run the
internal memory diagnostic tool (just type 'memory diagnostic' into the
start/search line to begin). If it comes up clean, then set the advanced
system options (control panel/system/advanced/startup and recovery settings)
to create a small memory dump when it crashes. Next time it does, send the
newly created dump file under C:\Windows\minidump to me at
rick_at_mvps_dot_org using a subject line of 'per req' (no other or it will
not get past the filters) and I will see if I can determine the root of the
    problem.
