Automatic Driver Updating Program

Discussion in 'Windows Vista' started by amadeusmozart, Jul 1, 2009.

  1. Less than a year ago I had a free program from HP that would
automatically scan my computer and tell me which drivers were out of
date and automatically update them. I can no longer find the link to
that program on the HP site, and their customer support won't answer me
about it for whatever reason. I am aware that there are paid programs
that can do this, but I would like to avoid that cost if at all
possible. Does anyone have or know where to get the HP Driver Updater?
    Thank you.

i subscribe to the hp newsletter, and each issue comes with a link to
that automatic updater. i cannot vouch for it working or not since i
have never used it, but you might try signing up for the newsletter to
    try it yourself.

  5. I subscribed to the newsletter to check for myself, and the only links
to drivers I see are the ones that take you to the main driver download
page. Several people on this board suggested my problem was due to
drivers, but I don't know which ones are out of date or which one is the
problem, so I thought an automatic updater could help me.

you can install a trial version of driver-genius or driver detective,
and they will list all of your outdated drivers. they just wont let you
download them. with that list of outdated drivers you can hunt them down
yourself, from the various manufacturers websites. or for instance, if
you have an hp, you should be able to look up your model and find all
downloads (not just drivers) pertaining to it.
