Jason we should determine which graphics option your machine is actually using. Download a program named Speccy at piriform dot com. When you open Speccy the first window shows the various parts of your machine. Click on the "Graphics" folder and see what it says.

Ok that seems to indicate you are using the Nvidia card. You can stop worrying about Intel graphics drivers.

Ok, let's go back to the original problem. You said you ran a speed test. Did you use speedtest.net? The numbers you reported were not great and your wireless connection may be the problem.
I ask that you use speedtest.net and re-report the results. Thanks.

Are you certain about the numbers. The Speedtest scale I'm looking at tops at 100Mbps.
Can you copy and paste the speedtest results? There is an option to "share this result."

Thanks, unless I'm missing something (which is always possible!) I've never seen speed ratings that high. Of course you're in Roswell, that might have something to do with it. (Sorry, I couldn't resist;))
I'm going to have to think some more about this, maybe another staff member will have another idea.

Do you have access to use an internet cable instead of the wireless?

    As stated in post #1
The Internet connection doesn't affect anything if you're playing a fully downloaded file.

We've determined that you have two graphic adapters installed - GeForce 1060 and an Intel. There has to be a way to choose which adapter to play the video. If you right-click the file you want to play, are you given a choice of which adapter to use?

It doesn't give my any choice. I have changed my settings to make the nvidia the default video card for all applications. Also this 1 second freezing happens while I am typing as we speak. It's not just video, it is everything.

I thank you guys for all your help today, if you get any new ideas I will appreciate the advice. I've sent some emails off to the company I bought it from and hope to hear back soon. Is there a way to donate to support such a helpful site of good people?
