-I boot my computer a couple of days ago and the computer boots but i cant move my mouse, and my keyboard doesn't respond.
    -I restart and it works.
-I boot my pc the next day and today. And windows stops loading at the logo screen. I restart and it still doesn't work.
-So I unplug my keyboard, mouse and external and it boots.

    Whats going on?

    P.S

Sometimes when using my computer my curser stops moving. (i have a razer imperator) The razer imperator configurator gives me an error that the mouse has stopped working. I unplug and plug back my mouse back in and it works again.
Also i try to update to firmware 1.13 it sais it installed but still shows the older version in the configuartor.
Don't know if this has anything to do with it but thought it might help.

    Hi Blobby22

Do you have a spare different mouse, begged borrowed, or stolen, the latter not really advisable, but try using in a different mouse and seeing if that makes a difference.

Does the external drive have its own power supply or does it draw off the PC

Congrats on your posts, I think 195 of them went on the building section :snckr:
Well we can rule it drawing more off the PSU then :D

Why are you trying to update the firmware if the drive was working in the first place?

I would say that the USB bus is being overloaded, if it boots without the mouse, kb and HDD then.....
The USB bus is normally split say 4 on one and 4 on another so if you try another bank of USB and it works then that would explain it.

I would try without the mouse, kb and just the HDD in and see if it boots, if not then the issue is the HDD
does it have the ability to use another connection (firewire, E-SATA etc) ?

Im trying to update the firmware because i like having the most up to date programs, and gets rid of bugs and adds new features sometimes.
It boots now i just changed the usb slot and it works, it was being overloaded, because i also had a keyboard in the bank of 4 usb slots which has a lcd screen (drawing more power)

I had issues similar to yours. I had too much on the USB hub.

I bought a powered Hub,and had no issues since. :)

They are cheap over here, I have two kicking around somewhere I dont even use, I used to use them years ago, but modern MOBOs should be able to cope with the load, but it also depends on the PSU (as remember all USB devices are powered from a single rail within the PSU)
