I have a Server Core VM, which is a DC. This is the only DC in the AD Forest (Lab). I have uninstalled AD (ocsetup role name /uninstall) from the server after which i am getting a BSOD. I am also not getting DS Restore Mode prompt even after pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del. Kindly assist?

  2. Hello Baig,

    1. You will only get an AD restore mode option during boot with F8 and only
if the server is doain controller.

    2. So when you removed the AD role from the server, as said, you can not
    boot into DS restore mode.

If i misunderstand you please clarify what you have done in detail.

    Best regards

  3. Since it is VM and only a lab environment, it's best to forget it and start
    again with a fresh VM.
