    Hello Again,

Thanks for all your help in the past - now for my next little issue. Actually there are two:

    1) Whenever I play MP3 files using Windows Media Player it constantly goes through the process of "Updating media library" even when I'm not connected to the internet. I have tried going through the menu:
    Organise
    Options
and unselecting "Retrieve additional information from the Internet"

This stops some of the process but not the entire process. I would like to stop it completely because it seems to me that my PC is working harder than it should while this is happening.

    2) The other related issue is, whenever I start Media Player there is one specific folder out of the nearly 1100 resident on my PC that consistently appears in the playlist. I haven't deliberately put it there and I delete it from the list when I see it, but it reappears the next time I use Media Payer.

    Thanks in Anticipation,
    Vavaseur

Hi.Try going to Programs and Features in the Control Panel, and click the "Turn Windows Features on or off" link. Expand Media Features folder and uncheck Windows Media Player. Reboot and go back to the same place, then check the box again.
    Does this make a difference?
