I click "Yes" and the window keeps reappearing.
I had Vista on the computer but upgraded to Windows 7. I checked and I have WLM 2011.
After I get the above window several times I get this:

Did you find and install Windows 7 drivers for the system after doing the upgrade from Vista? Often Vista drivers will work in Win 7 but not always.

Do you have proper internet access with the system other than email?

Was the upgrade to Win 7 a clean install or an upgrade?

The Windows upgrade was done several years ago and everything worked fine until this morning.
Yes, I have access to Internet except for WLM.
Don't know about clean install or upgrade....I just know that I had Vista and did a remote assisted install of Windows 7 which I purchased and all was fine!!

I know that this is not what you want to hear as you want it working right this second.

Since this has worked for ages and then, this morning, died... I MIGHT go as far as to suspect an issue with the email servers, it does happen.

The best thing that I can think of to say AT THIS POINT is to just wait a day to see if it clears up. If your email provider offers web mail check that way for a day... Have you checked your email provider's web mail to see if that works?

A question... Does this only involve one email account or multiple? If onlt one who is it? By 'who is it' I mean are you using gmail, yahoo..., etc.?

If this does not solve itself within 24 hours or so of your first post I would suggest a system restore to before you had the issue.

    HI,
    Thanks for your reply.
Guess what...I thought to try System Restore and it worked. Guess you had the same thought.
It is interesting that there was a Microsoft critical update. I am going to check on that and just hope that is not what caused the problem.
And, yes, I did check my email on line at Comcast. No problem there. Also Gmail, but, of course, I could not get my Gmail through my WLM, but could on line.

The Microsoft "critical update" could very well be the culprit that caused your live mail online issue.
Try reinstalling the update and then check your live mail. If it was indeed the update creating the
issue, uninstall the update and mark it as "hidden" so it won't attempt to reinstall automatically.

Hum, one other issue that actually came to my attention here for exactly the same problem with Windows Live Mail, and giving me exactly the same error message.

Due to some other problems I was having with my router, I discovered the way round those problems was to turn back my system date to February 1st 2010. I needed to do that to access my Edimax router, and is the well known way to do so for older models of that router.

However, although I turned the time and date back to the present and correct date, I then got the same message regarding getting Live Mail back on line.

I found that I needed to actually get the system back in synchronisation with Internet time. Once I had done that, Windows Live mail connected correctly.

If you get the same message again, firstly check that your system clock is correct, as a failing CMos battery could be the cause if it isn't.
If that is the case the battery may require replacement.

Providing there is no problem with the clock and it is showing correct time, and therefore the battery is OK, in order to synchronise with Internet time, first click on the clock on the bottom right, then click on the "Change date and time settings" In the window that then opens click on the right hand tab "Internet Time"

Another window opens with a button for "Change settings" In the next window to open, first make sure that it says "time.windows.com" in the drop down menu, then click the "Update now" button, this will force the computer to re-synchronise with internet time.
Providing the CMos battery is OK, a reboot of the system and Windows Live Mail should then connect.

    Nev.
