Hi Joker. I have found that buying a PSU roughly 200 watts more than the minimum requirements works best for me. I find less issues with my cards under load and Temp and the graphics are very clear.

A second reason why I do this is if at a later stage you buy a better Graphics card you may be lucky enough that your current PSU may not have to be upgraded to suit the new card.

True Cindy but I was forcing myself recommending that and would much rather see the Seasonic. Rememeber not only is Seasonic the best but they also are the only ones offering a 5 year warranty as well.

Both points are excellent and I could not agree more if we can add the words "top quality" psu "200 watts more" as there is plenty of 700 watt garbage out there that won't even hit 350 watts downhill with a tailwind regardless of what the label says.

To finish for now, considering we now know that the present power supply is definitely now in a dangerous condition, as that very low reading of +ve 9.8 volts on what should be twelve volts, plus the -ve of 6.5 volts can do some serious damage to other components, so I think we can all recommend that you do not use that computer till you get a replacement power supply.

    :iagree:

It took me a while to comprehend the gravity of it but I am fully on board and as far as that PC it is on hold and unplugged till a new PSU arrives.

    Thanks to All :)

    To Be Continued...

    Regards

    Hi JokersWild,

If the PSU is located at the top, the fan should be facing downwards.

Oops I didn't notice the question, sorry about that but I always judge by the way the screws line up in the back as it will only go in one way but Cindy is gight they need to face down which is rather stupid when the psu is on the bottom of the case.

    Hi

Installed the new PSU all went good with it here is the numbers from speccy (to me they not look much different) but of course I have no idea with that at all, and my pc has come on and got it to desktop which didnt before even though it did freeze a few times but that was human error forgot to re-apply the thermal paste to CPU but hopefully they numbers are better.

    CPU CORE 1.376 V
    MEMORY CONTROLLER 1.264 V
    +3.3V 3.296 V
    +5V 5.027 V
    +12V 10.496 V
    -12V (6.528) V
    -5V (9.152) V
    +5V HIGH THRESHOLD 4.731 V
    CMOS BATTERY 3.216 V
