windows defender question

<sigh> In the post where I'd last asked the question (which is not the post
to which you're replying here), I said that you should wait 12 hours or more
before seeing if a Defender defs update is available from Windows Update.

Approximately 12 hours ago, you wrote: "1.63.1484.0 is the current [defs]
version installed..."

Run Windows Update manually now and see if defs v1.63.1517.0 is offered.

FYI: Microsoft has established separate newsgroups for Windows Defender
support and comments. This is not one of them.

If you go to shut down Windows (e.g. see its prompt)
does the Turn Off button have the AU overlay?

BTW as well as looking at the WindowsUpdate.log for clues
you should look at ReportingEvents.log
