My daughter and SIL upgraded windows 7 to windows 8. Long story short they tried to download windows 8, not compatible with their pc They are now trying to remove windows 8.
What would you suggest how to remove windows 8.
Thank you for any help you might be able to give them.

    Hi Marie
First of all the computer in question would almost certainly be able to run Windows 8. Any computer that runs Win 7 can run Win 8. But of course that is not your question.

The short answer to your question is to remove the HDD from the computer and connect it to another healthy computer and reformat the drive. This action will wipe the hard drive of all data, including Windows 8.

As to how this is done mainly depends on whether or not your daughter has a Windows 7 disk? Or did the computer ship with win 7 pre-installed?

It may have a recovery partition? If it does then they may not need to remove the HDD to facilitate re-installing win 7.

A few more details please, including make and model of computer.
