Downloaded a copy from Technet and finally got to install it. I also will get a copy for beta testing Windows 7, but, I chose to wait for the box set. I knew I could still get it from Technet so I opted in for the box set on Connect.

I did a clean install formatting the drives. Before I started I used Windows Easy Transfer to save all my files and settings. WET sure makes things much easier. Sure I have to reinstall the programs. That isn't a problem. Losing all the customized settings are.

The time from when I first started WET to complete install including all programs and restoring settings took about 2 hours. The install itself took less than 10 minutes. I installed using a Transend 16GIG USB flash drive. The rest of the 2 hours was installing programs and restoring settings. I had 103GIGS worth of files and settings to restore. Most of it was source code from various projects. Microsoft got something right when they created Windows Easy Transfer. I seem to remember that XP had something similar although I don't think it worked as good.
