My taskbar and the customize taskbar not working as it used to. Battery quit and I removed it. Does having no battery affect the taskbar responding? Most items are greyed out and do not respond as they used to. Will try a restart and see if helps. Only 3 icons on taskbar now (the area near the clock). Ad Muncher, Action Center and FiOS Modem wireless access.

Restarting brought back 7 out of 12 but cannot get other 5 to work. One is battery and so do not expect that one to work.

When I unchecked box in Customize to always show icons and notifications they all became active again and I was able to make them all say Show Icons And Notifications. Then I checked the box again. Turns out some of the ones that did not appear were not active at the time. But I think i understand it better now. Still have the normal 7 icons.
