I have had no problems at all with Win 7rc.

My original problem on my Old hp seems to have disapeared, I had to reformat and install Win 7rc once and now it has been stable for a month. Compared to reformating and reinstalling the O/S, 2-3 times a week. I will Definatly buy it when they release it.

Glad you like Windows 7 Patrick, i pre-ordered Windows 7 Pro and saved quite a bit of £££, i have found RC1 to be stable, great to customise and a joy to use :D, just about all my fave apps can be used (with the option of XP etc compat mode), i think that Microsoft got it right this time :D

I have it running on a laptop and a tower with next to no issues.

I've tried three security suites, Norton 2009 Internet Security, Bitdefender Internet Security 2009 and Eset Smart Security 4 - all work spot on.

The only small issue I have found is with Outlook 2007. Each time it is opened it checks the data file, which can get annoying. The fix is to download the Office 2007 SP2 update.

Apart from that its spot on.

    RIP Vista ;)

I think that the early 'issues' with Vista were quickly ironed out, W7 is good but I dont think its as much as an improvement as OS's go as Vista was to XP - and seeing as though W7 is based on Vista....

Perhaps thats true - its always been a speed issue with Vista. Three years ago most average users hopped out and bought a low to mid spec machine with Vista installed only to find it slowed down to snails pace within a few months.

Probably not Vista's fault that companies like Acer were shipping cheap new machines (Tesco specials) with 512MB RAM only 12 months ago - oh and then add a trial of your favourite Norton and you have one dead PC!

I think as hardware goes right now, Vista will run ok but......Win 7 runs faster on a comaparable machine as so thems average PC users out there are happy bunnies!

No doubt Vista will be around for some time yet as it isn't outdated - like XP has quickly become.
