Windows 2008 Server Core issue

Discussion in 'Windows Home Server' started by Sukhwinder Singh, Apr 14, 2009.

  1. Dear All,

I am facing the issue with Windows 2008 Server Core. I have one Windows 2008
Domain controller and one Windows 2008 server core PC which is in workgroup.
I am not able to ping Server Core PC from Windows 2008 Dc and Vise versa.

From both the machines I am able to ping other PC's in my network and Vise
versa. The proble is only between these PC's.

I have enabled ICMP using netsh command on both the servers. but no luck.

All my PC's are on Microsoft Virtual PC 2007. All the VM's have network
    configured to local and
they have static Ip address. From the effected computers I am able to ping
other VM's which are windows 2003 and Windows XP. Problem is there between
Server Core and Win 2008 DC.

Kindly let me know if anyone has any solution to it.

Once tested on virtual environment I need to implement on live environment.

    Need help urgently.

  3. Dear All,

I have posted it here because it is not related to Active Directory and a
    general server issue.

I have tested the same in Live environment also but I am not able to ping
between Server core and windows 2008 server.

It is not a problem with VM which is clear now.

    Can someone help me now...

    Thanks and Regards,

    Sukhwinder Singh
