win2008 and task scheduler

Hi all,
I'm trying to schedule a task in Windows 2008.
I want it to run hourly every day, which works without issue.

But I want to suspend the task a few hours each day.
So I want to say "run every hour, every day, in between a start time and end
time".

For example, suppose I want to run the task only during normal business
hours, and suspend it after 6pm or something.

Can I do this?

You need to create a "multiple schedule". You'll find it under the Advanced
Options.

i have to look like a complete idiot though, and admit that I can't even
find "advanced options"

I got tasks, i got properties, i got views, i got triggers and tabs, but
not "advanced" anything?

could someone give me a pointer on where it is?

I'm beginning to hate 2008

For some reason the CDO interface has split this thread into two. My reply to
the other half as follows.


Server Manager|Configuration|Scheduler, create the task then;

Triggers|New|Daily, set start time 16:00, then Repeat task every hour for
duration of 16 hours would give you a task that starts at 4:00 PM and runs
every day and every hour until 8:00 AM

In case you cannot see the two responses left by Dave Patrick: Have a look
at the picture I attach to this reply. It shows you the location of the tick
box "Show multiple schedules". I took it on a WinXP PC but I expect that it
looks pretty much the same on a Win2000 Server.
