One of my PCs I had Win 8. on and I got the Ad for Win 10.

And yes I click it and Downloaded it and did the Full Install.

But I forgot in my Folder Photos in My Documents Folder I had a lot of Pictures.

And now they are not here because it did a Format.

Now I know because I had my Photos on my Win 8. System and then put Win 10. I can not do a System Restore.

But I do know that all my Photos are still on the Hard Drive.

Now I know I can Hoock the Hard Drive up to another PC and run a Restore Files program.
But can I run this program on the C Drive?

    These programs are free.

Are you certain, if you sign-in w/ your Microsoft account, they are not there? When you did the Upgrade, it asked if you wanted to keep everything, your personal data such as photos... did you not tell it to keep your stuff? If you did, they are there.

    Just a thought...

If you just did the Upgrade you can roll back to the previous OS... then redo the Upgrade being sure to select Keep everything. W/in 30 days it can be rolled back.

    And...

"Now I know I can Hoock the Hard Drive up to another PC and run a Restore Files program.
But can I run this program on the C Drive?"

^ this is not an approach available or something that's a solution

This should just be a matter of opening the File Explorer window, accessing the Windows.old folder at C:\Windows.old, and browsing your file system. Your personal files will be located under C:\Windows.old\Users\NAME.
Find the files required and drag to C: Drive.
That's if the Windows Old Folder hasn't been deleted.
