You would download the zip file and extract the files to a folder of your choice. Suggest you make a new folder for the extracted files. Note where that folder is located.

Go to the Device Manager and right-click on the network adapter. Go to Update Driver Software.
Click on Browse my computer for driver software.
Navigate to the folder you extracted the files to.
    Click Next.

Please create a restore point before doing this.

Something to note: this is not the original manufacturer's site. Qualcomm doesn't provide drivers for their products to end consumers. (That's strange). So maybe before installing this driver, check with your computer's manufacturer.

Note: I downloaded the zip file and extracted the files inside. I ran a malware scan on the folder. It was reported to be clean.

ok so I have to install the folder with the extracted files, and not each file.
This weekend wifi is not disconnecting
So I do the installation the next time that the wifi disconnects?

If you continue to have problems with your wireless connection, then update the driver.

On Friday I turned off avast component to control the network, and since then I have not had any disconnection.
So this looks solved, if it restarts I will do the test in the batch file. Otherwise I will not take more of your time

    Many thanks

    Arturo

What version of Avast do you have? It is a free anti-virus or is it their Internet Security or Premium product?

Avast free version 12.3.2280, which should be the last one
No disconnection since I turned the network component off. Still this could have coincided with a win 10 update or other

Since I uninstalled the avast component for controlling the network it seldom disconnected, then I recently tried Xirrus wifi inspector to check the connection and the results were not useful and my wifi disconnected very often, then I uninstalled the xirrus program and my wifi disconnects more often than before installing the program (I have veri.
So I have tried your batch. My ISP is telenet, in Belgium. my private SSID is FB36C. In addition, telenet clients we can connect to any "TelenetWiFree" or "TELENETHOMESPOT" signal, in principle for roaming.
I include results "FBworking" when connected to my private SSID, "FBnotworking" when it disconnected & just "network results" when I connected to TELENETHOMESPOT.

So, have you now a better idea of the cause & solution,

    thanks

Let first try resetting your network setting to their defaults.

Please open an Administrator Command Prompt
By pressing the Windows key + X and click on Command Prompt (Admin)

Type the following commands, pressing Enter after each command:

    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    nbtstat -R
    nbtstat -RR
    netsh int reset all
    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
    netsh int ipv6 reset
    netsh int ipv4 reset
    netsh winsock reset catalog

    Reboot the computer

Try it out for a bit and let us know.

And I try this while I am connecte to my private SSID, right?

Yes, run those commands when connected to your wireless network (or as you refer to it, SSID). It'll refresh the network IP address and do some house cleaning also.

No it does not matter you can be wired or wireless and or not even connected at all.

Like @Tony D stated the commands will refresh your network settings.

    STATUS
So i ran each of the commands by the order, doing Enter after each one, but only restarting at the very end.
the command netsh int reset all did not work, I got a message saying that the command could not be found or so.
also command netsh int ipv4 reset failed, message like no user specified
then I did a reboot and tried again and netsh int resetall did not work once more, but netsh int ipv4 reset did work this time.

Before doing this I had done:
1- 1he network reset in Network & Internet (with no apparent improvement), and
2- I found the dependencies for "WLAN Autoconfig" service to ensure that they were in "automatic" start. Remote Procedure Call & windows connection manager were already in automotic start. I could not find the 2 other dependencies listed : NativeWifiFilter & NDIS usermode I/O Protocol, but I readn on the internet that this is normal in Windows 10, in spite of using the setting to show hidden services. ( no improvement either)
3- I changed the channel of the router. (no improvement)

Did I ran the commands correctly, only doing the reboot at the end?
also worth noting that sometimes when I logon with plane mode off I get the message that taskmanager.exe failed to start. Never when plane mode on.

The tremendous shortening of the WiFi connections that I suffered having Xirrus wifi analyzer on my PC (even without launching it) could also give a clue of the problem, no?

After running the commands the WiFi connections seem to last longer, but I am not yet certain.

As for the drivers, the manufacturer, Asus, told me not to try the ones in the unofficial atheros sites, but eventually to roll back to the 2012 drives with which my notebook was originally sold.

That is Microsoft in their wisdom decided to do away with that command in windows 10. So that is ok.

Yes reboot after you did all of them. So you have done perfectly.

May have asked this before when was the last time you rebooted the Modem and if you use one Router?

Yes, both the modem and the box of the ISP have MACs and I have rebooted them recently.
    Nothing seems to help.
What should I try next? the original drivers of 2012 as suggested by the manufacturer of the notebook, Asus?
