My computer keeps freezing when i log in. I've run an anti-virus scan (i use AVG anti-virus software) but have no virus. Does anybody have any idea whats wrong with my computer?
Can i reboot the computer myself and if so how?
    Thanks for answering my questions.

Can you try and give us a more complete picture of what is happening? Doe it freeze at the same point each time? What is showing on the Screen when it happens? Your profile says XP home, correct?

    So why ask this question?

If your system freezes when you boot up - how do you manage to run a scan ?

I think you need to give us as much information as you can as BeeCeeBee has already suggested :)

If you constantly tap f8 ( about once per second ) after switching on > Select Safe Mode from the list.
Does the system still freeze ?
