This writer slams Apple and Mac. .

A writer at PC Pitstop has some harsh things to say. Seems to have some valid points. What do you reckon ??

I'll give Apple the fact that what they make works and works well, as it should, they design the hardware and software to be compatible, what annoys me is when you have to transfer from Apple to Windows, or visa versa, in my experience you let any apple software onto a windows system and it will try a take over bid.....!

Cannot Apple understand that if I wanted it, I'd find it and Install it, I don't require constant pop ups asking me if I want to install something.
also just because I install one piece of software to convert or open one file I might not want to use that to open all files of that type.

then their is the conflicts problem, to me when ever I install Apple software on a windows system, parts of the windows system seem to stop working.

From what I see from Apple they never intended to compete with Microsoft, but carved out their own section of the Market, a bit like the Rolls Royce of IT

You pay a little more and get a better product, where it doesn't matter how long it lasts as you will have the money to replace it with the latest model as soon as it's available.

However, with the evolution of Hand held Mobile Devices, it would seem a battle ground has been created, and a number of new combatants have entered onto the Field one of the Largest being Google with their Android OS, with the support of Hardware Manufacturers that utilise this software.

But I have no doubt that this is a debate that will continue and evolve along with technology :)

One big and to me very important aspect of that guys article is substance against style. Is Steve Jobs or his descendants of French origins? For the French are quit big in promoting style rather than substance, you only need look at some of the French car manufacturers, the cars look nice but don't last very long.
Toward the end of his article he bemoans the fact that the latest Apple laptops battery is not replaceable. The battery dies, so does the laptop, that sort of substance-less thing is most definitely not for me as it isn't for him either, and I don't blame him. I would even be lodging complaints with trading standards as it doesn't seem to me to be fit for purpose in that regard.
Much as there is many things wrong with Microsoft, most are repairable, or updates improve things. Windows XP, look at how long it lasted, now we have Windows7, a much improved system, though Vista is the forerunner, it was updated to 7, soon there will be W8 things improve as Microsoft moves on.
What exactly are Apple doing in the way of real improvement when a not replaceable battery is their way forward?
