Many times I get the message Internet Explorer is not responding. I'm running Microsoft Essentials....should I have any other virus protection?

    I'm constantly, restarting...

    Help...

    Thanks

Hi and welcome to CHF Jeanne.

Is it just Internet Explorer that stops or is there other things refusing to respond, or freezing up?

Have you tried any other browser such as Firefox instead, and if so how does that perform?

If you haven't tried another browser, it would help as if that doesn't freeze, we know then it is only Internet explorer at fault, and not something else on your computer causing it.

As for security, Microsoft Security Essentials is fine, though are you using the Windows or other firewall as well, which you do need.
For added protection we do recommend Malwarebytes free, that is an on demand scanner which you use once a week or thereabouts, as it can catch and stop the rare odd thing that might get past your ordinary anti-virus.

    Nev.
