I thought the fastest in the UK was 50Mb, but I know they have faster in the east, testing 100Mb last I heard
Virgin reckon they will have it in 2012 I think it was, at least around this time people will be asking what hardware they need for it :)

I'll have to run a wire direct from my modem to my PC and do the test again as that one was through a modem, then router then switch to pc :D
questions, questions, I am sure people will have questions why its set up like that :snckr: ASK AWAY

I used to have Sky, at 2 Different addresses I had no probs and thought their customer service was brilliant, till I moved here, unfortunately here is connected to the exchange by 2K of copper wire, belonging to BT :madd: the best I could get was 2MB/s quoted 4MB/s and after a number of emails to Ofcom and BT about changing the exchange, Not really a big deal as were between two telegraph poles one to a closer main exchange the other copper to a sub exchange that then routes to the main exchange  I told BT to stick their phone line where the sun don't shine and they told me I had to pay £60 to cancel the contract :madd: after a short but nasty call they wavered the £60  and I now have a Virgin phone line and Broadband, with Sky TV, not the cheapest way to do things but then I think Virgin TV sucks :p:

Yeah i agree! was thinking of switching to virgin broadband and if possible keep sky tv as i think it cheaper than virgin tv anyway.

sky have a nasty habbit of capping upload/download speed quite regular for some reason, i think it has something to do with priority over high low paying customers to the high paying, as this is what the government proposed a while back but i think its already happening.

so basically you have to pay through the nose to get good broadband.

The ISP's in Sweden are advertising up to 1000MBS for those who live in apartment houses in the cities. Unfortunately I live in a village so the best I can have is 24MBS.

I pay for 24Mbs and get...
