    Hi,
i have and entry in the registry at
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters
the name is PrvNtpServer (reg_sz) and it has valid data in it.
i had no luck googling the entry. is it valid and does it work.
    server2003 r2 sp2 box.
is this saying that my 'internal (private) ntp server' are those values?
    Thanks.

I haven't seen that entry, yet. You can read the following articles for time
    service registry entries:

How to configure an authoritative time server in Windows Server

Registry entries for the W32Time service

More info on configuring the time service on Windows:

As mentioned and implied, I could not find anything on that in a search. Do
you have more than one server? Do you see that value on other servers or
machines? I looked at a few of my customer sites, including my own, and did
not see that entry anywhere, even searching the reg. Do you think someone
    put that in there mistakenly?

    Hi,
i only see the value on two servers. and the prvntpserver points to our ntp
servers. we have more ntp servers (please don't ask why - i am sure it made
sense to whomever set this up!)
i think that someone put it there thinking it was a real value.

    Thanks.

That may be possible. I would remove it or rename it to the correct value,
and go through the steps mentioned in the article I provided to set your DCs
    up properly.
