I have an answering machine for this reason

My answer machine does that as well :)

Also in the instructions it said the wireless handset may be renamed as required, so I renamed it Larry, so now we no longer have a phone we have Larry :snckr:

Pre-paid credit cards all the way, No loans, One account for direct debits and a different account with a different bank for money being paid into, Banks, MPs, Maffia, etc all the same to me, a bunch of robbing, thieving, extorting, conning, lying, two faced, scum, see a man in a suite start running, see a guy in a leather jacket, denim jeans, who hasn't shave for a week no worry's he's more likely to help you than the previously mentioned

Aha, you too must have a 'Roof Rabbit' living in your computer! The little things obviously breed quickly and spread world wide in no time, Skip - as we have them here too. Yup, they invade our computers ... steal only one sock at a time out of the washer/dryer (suggestion: just give up and buy a zillion identical pairs - grin) ... they drink the last of the milk and leave an empty carton in the fridge - yup, they are horribly talented!!

Why is it the button to open and close the tray on a DVD drive is directly below the tray? even more annoying is the fact you can open but not close the tray from windows so after you open the tray you have to contort your wrist and hand to reach the button under the tray to close it.

why not put the button Above the tray and give windows the power to close the tray!!!!

    Hmmm, things that annoy me?

    well:

People that think they are elitist just because they have a membership to a special invite website (designer websites) when you cant.
When dogs bark at 9:30 in the mornings on Saturdays.
When you cant import code onto a page in dreamweaver because it has a syntax error when it does not.
When Dreamweaver and Photoshop crash (all the time for me)

those are some of my peeves.

I dislike people who block food store Isles, with their Trolleys.

Also aged drivers on Sundays who won't keep up the proper Speed, and have a line half a KLM behind them.

When you eventually can get past you glance at them, and they have the typical (Lights are on and no one is at home) Look.

I dislike hoons that scream past my home at 2am in the morning, squealing tyres and so noisy.

What 4 cylinder Puss Box needs an exhaust, the same size as a Kenworth.

ROFL they would gain more benefit by keeping the smaller diameter pipe and diverting it out the side of the car, the biggest joke is that by putting an unused big bore exhaust system on the car they have reduced there power

Perfectly understandable why they are peeves, Spiffy! My Corel Photo program has to keep being resuscitated too - pain in the bum when one is in the middle of working with an image!

When I grew up there were no answering machines, home PC's, Etc.

We still had a 1930's Bakelite rotary dial phone in the house.

I have no voice-mail, text messaging, etc. on my cell phone.

If I'm not answering, I can't or don't want to talk to whomever may be calling. :snckr:

    You're quite right!

We seem to have allowed ourselves to be 'trained' by modern technology....

Few even go for a walk without their cell phone and I-Pod or similar for music (guess we want to be distracted so we'll never have to truly 'be alone')
Parents are encouraged to buy video player screens for the rear seats of their cars to keep their kids occupied (ever tried looking out the window and sharing the wonders of nature with the kids)
Emails allow us to send instantly 'letters' - but often we expect an 'instant reply' back (whatever happened to waiting a week or more, filled with anticipation to receive a letter from a friend)
Most of us have the urge to answer a phone when it rings...whether we are busy or making dinner or worse, eating dinner.
Telemarketers are now part of daily life for most of us - and never once do they consider they are invading our privacy. Boo and hiss to each and every one of them.

I love modern technology - but we can run it, it doesn't have to run us. :)

Aha, yes - life before computers. And come to think of it, life without being able to watch television for more than one hour a week. Mind you, that was when when people answered the Customer Service telephones, etc too. Gracious, I'm not just getting old, I must be old - yikes!
