    Hello there

Thought I would share this because I am kind of sad about this, This was one of the best programs that Microsoft offered to check if their new software would work in a live office with the software that was made for us here at courthouse. It was well worth the yearly sub. I think they killed this program because it was being abused by people selling their keys on Craigslist. Not sure if this is true.

My TechNet subscription expires on April 3rd 2014. I don't know anything about people selling their
license keys on Craigslist but nothing surprises me any more. I will definitely miss my subscription.

Selling keys was the reason why it was discontinued. They tried to combat it by limiting the amount of keys you'd get. It used to be 10 per product and they changed it to 5 then to 3. Users got mad and Microsoft got tired of hearing the complaints so decided to do away with it.

There was some talk at one of the developer conferences I attended about Microsoft blocking the keys once the subscription is expired. There were also reports from some at the conference that their keys stopped working shortly after their subscription was expired. If you have an expiring subscription I would watch your installs with those keys. You might get the activation screen and have to purchase a key.

I have a MSDN premier subscription through work so I have already moved to those keys since my subscription to TechNet is up next month. I don't want to take the chance that what people are saying is true. I have saved all my keys so if it's not true I'll have the keys to use in the future.

Cindy and I signed up at the same time in April. I did read you get 3 months after the end of your subscription before it goes away. Damn shame as I bought some laptops on eBay that had Ms Office on them and I am certain
they had Technet codes on them from time to time. It was such a good thing that a few greedy AH's had to ruin for everyone. MSDN is way too expensive like $3600 with Office included. You can get Windows only for $600 but I am not willing to even pay that.

I am also holding on to my keys also. but thats sounds like the same thing I have been hearing. There are going to be some really ticked off people who have bought the keys from someone making a quick buck. but it will also get people to buy legal software.
