I bought a lot of 100 of the Webroot Secure Anywhere Antivirus 2012version. Can anyone tell me if these can be resold legaly. Software looks good and I installed one on my pc and it says its running the most up to date version. Only problem I have is that it says Subscription is not activated. Says I currently have 365 days of protection and the Web console is activated. On the backs it says instore activation required. Guy I bought them from is a good seller and said he bought them from best buy. Just want to make sure its ok to sell these or I need aply for a refund. Thanks

' ' Hello mmaextreme and Welcome to CHF,

' ' Something sounds a little fishy with your purchase. I know that Best Buy Geek Squad was
' ' pushing Webroot Secure Anywhere Antivirus 2012 with the sale of every  ' ' new computer for
' ' awhile last year. At one point they pre installed it with a free one year subscription.

' ' The company itself also seems to have a lot of complaints with their auto-renewal fees. They
' ' have apparently been automatically charging customers credit cards for renewal without any
    ' ' authorization. See the complaints here...http://www.complaintsboard.com/bycompany/webroot-a118473.html
' ' I would save myself a lot of potential headaches and request a refund. It seems like you might
' ' end up with many unhappy customers. It doesn't sound as if the product can legally be sold by
' ' a private vendor. It looks as if Best Buy had some kind of deal with Webroot.

Says im running the 8.0.2.85 version and when I loged into the web console it said I was protecting or could protect three computers. This is the secure anywhere antivirus version for 1pc. I bought this from him on ebay and the seller claims he bought it all from Best Buy. I sure dont want to be any part of people being charged for something they did not buy. He says im crazy for wanting a refund and urges me to keep it. I even called best buy and told them and they told me to ask ebay if it was ok. Havent heard anything from ebay yet, may need to call them. Thanks for the input

' ' You would think someone from Best Buy should have an answer for you. (No surprise there, kind of typical.)
' ' Good Luck, let us know how you fare with eBay.

Talked to an Agent at Best Buy and the software is good and totaly legal to resell she said. It was bought through a liquidation probably by an employee. eBay has no problems with anyone reselling this. I've been selling them for $4.00 with free shipping since they are 2012. She also told me at best buy that they will continue to update and protect through 2013 . She said the only real difference between 2012 and 13 since they are so similar is that they are more less running on different platforms. Also said that anyone who has a problem with activation could take it into best buy and they would be happy to help, or contact webroot. Havent heard of any issues on activation as of yet.
