WDS and HAL

I'm not sure if this is the right newsgroup for this but anyway.

I'm trying to figure out a good base image. I made an image using APCI-
MP but of course it can't be used by APCI-Uniprocessor archs. I have
even tried adding the line in the sysprep.ini like

[unattended]

UpdateUPHAL = "ACPIAPIC_UP,%WINDIR%\Inf\Hal.inf"

That line doesn't seem to make a difference because after sysprepping
again it the image is still a APCI-MP image. I would like to have a
base image everything can use. Is the only way to do this is to use
only APCI? If I use APCI does that mean I can't use more than one
core?
