Apparently the actual official date of a 'launch' for Windows 7 is on the 22nd of October - and people can apply Microsoft to 'host a party' and, if selected, the Host gets a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate and party pack of napkins, balloons, etc. (What!! No gift-certificate for a cake?!)

Hmmm ... the Host of this party gets Windows 7 software - and the guests get?? :)

Yup, no party and free publicity from me and please don't send me an invitation to one either - unless they give each guest something pretty darn good too! :cryz::)

I might look into this, as being a student, financial times are hard for the best of us, so anything cheap or better, free, is worth a look at :)

Well, come to think about it ...

A BYOB party with the host providing hot dogs might just be fun after all! Go for it - and I've got my fingers crossed for you, DirtyPolo!

(Maybe Microsoft has a soft-spot in their hearts too for those like you who help endless people with computer woes! :)).

Not sure what my chances are as they did have a little note on the side saying that most of the "hosts" will be selected from the states :(
I can only hope I am one of the few overseas hosts chosen :)

Nice timing as I would be in my University accommodation so I will have plenty of people to invite round for it! lol

I was reading about this last night, it was saying that for hosting the party you get entered into a draw and could win a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate.
There are 2 themes so it said and you can add pics and what not to a site that MS give you.............

theres uh.. 4 themes atm that I can chose from. and your guests dont have to be real life, they can be "online party goers" as the site describes them :) they just have to sign up to the site as guests. They also send out like 9 free "goodie bags" for the guests, no idea whats in them but they will be themed around the product and the chosen theme.

So maybe I can get away without spending any money at all :).

Now that would be a truly easy 'party'! No mess, no fuss and no actual entertaining costs! :)
