Hello CHF. This is my first post, and I just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas of how to improve on my self-made wall mounted computer. The platform is a 20 X25 inch plywood. I've made everything detachable and easily accessable. I'm still in school, so please keep it affordable. :p

LOL yea a Fancy Badge that means I have to solve everyone's disputes, and handle all the non technical stuff involved in running this place, so as were friendly around here well stick to names not titles, so Match will do if you don't mind ;)

As long as you understand I'm Married with Kids, and thus have no money :snckr: ( to spend on my self that is), so any donations towards a new PC or Car would be gratefully accepted :)

Sounds like quite an interesting project you've undertaken, I'm interested in seeing how you've resolved the Airflow cooling problems being out of the case, some years ago, before LCD monitors and ultra quite fans, I played with the Idea of building one in a desk, but scrapped the idea, because of the problems of mounting and hinging a CRT monitor to fold flat and the acoustic problems resulting from the fan noise being amplified by the Desk.

Now I'm Married and haven't really got the spare cash to build it :( and can't convince the wife it would look cool in the lounge :(

look forward to seeing what you've done so far in any case even if it is rough and ready :)

Hum, you could do this easily with a laptop, just nail the lid to the wall, with some form of stop for the lower case to sit on when down. Problem solved. Just be careful when driving the nails through the screen in the lid. Make sure the screen picture isn't of a lake as you might get wet. :snckr:

I am assuming that this is a serious inquiry and I really would not like the member to believe that we are not taking it seriously. I am still waiting to see exactly what he/she has in mind.

OK, I was joking a little about the laptop, but thinking about it more seriously, with care and maybe bracket clips to fit the edge of the lid, fold out or hinged rest brackets underneath to support the body when open, it actually could be done.
Depends a lot on the lid edge for fixing or clamping brackets perhaps, as some rounded tops may not be suitable.
But closed up when finished it wouldn't be too bad in say a flat where room is at a premium.

I actually might do some research into laptop lids, and designing a universal wall mounting clamp for it.

I am having serious doubts about my assumptions and would prefer that there are no further replies until the member posts again.
