    Hello and help please.

I have just added a password to my accout as i was going to set up user
accounts for the kids to use the pc as well.

typed password in, then confirmed it (yes I am 100% sure of the
password) but when i rebooted the pc and entered the password it comes
up as password incorrect - i have a linux boot disc for recovering
passwords from pc's (only every used on windows xp, kids have a habit of
changing things then forgetting) but when run on vista it tells me that
admin and guest are blank but my user's password is "not found".

so i am kind of stuck accessing my pc.

any help on recovering/resetting this would be greatly appreciated

    Regards
    Mark

ok - i should have read through the other posts first, but you know what
its like when things go wrong panic panic panic.

I found the answer on another post and used my vista dvd to boot from
    and do a system restore.

this forum will certainly be added to my favourites - vista can be a
    little quirky.
