Virus help needed

    I have this laptop that I think has a virus. Here are the symptons.

    Windows XP home

    When you login too ANY account "windows Explorer" doesnt run.
    No networking is running.
    I can NOT end any process that is running (with taskmanager).
    The computer has been renamed to "Folder".
    I can NOT run Norton that is on the system.
    I CAN run regedit but that is it.

    What can I do beside reformat??? I need the data off this system.

    If we knew what virus you are infected with we could help you remove it. Try to make a list of all the tasks running in task manager and post is.
