I did a search on 5 and 6 hop, and 5 is Sing tel Internet exchange.
6 is Global crossing in Kansas.
Optus.net.au,my ISP is owned By Singapore One Tel, so there lies a problem I think.
Global Crossing,I haven't a clue who they are.

EDIT. Used to be able to load CHF in around 1.5 Seconds.Something is amiss.

    I couldn't copy and Paste,mine Barry.
I had to type in for some reason.

I think we are all trying to learn something new here Bob. What exactly do you want Dougie to post other than the "DOS" window that he had posted. Please forgive my ignorance :( I have discovered an issue when I did it myself but am going to save it for a thread of my own so as not to confuse things.

Nope you typed it wrong, missed the space between tracert and www.computerhelpforums.net and missed the www. out as well, you have to type it exactly as seen below.

    tracert www.computerhelpforums.net

when using a command window you have to type everything exactly. close don't count, as their is nothing to work out you have made a mistake, or try to correct it

Imagine the command window as talking directly to your computer, Windows as a translator that will correct your bad spelling and mistakes, so when you talk to the computer direct you have to be careful to get it right. or the computer won't understand, even if its just a full stop missing or an extra space it cant work out what your trying to tell it to do.

While in the command windows after you do the command click the icon on the upper left. Click edit > select all. The click edit > copy.

Paste that here and you'll get this

Before anyone asks. I understand why this needs to be done instead of a screenshot as this needs to be included in an email.

Let us not lose site of gunnners problem which appears to be pretty bad based on his last ping test and tracert.

I think gunnners issues go beyond a possible bottleneck to this site. I would wait and let Bob take a look. He is the one who knows what to look for (or anyone else with the expertise on the subject :))

Yours won't help my cause. You hit a bottleneck as soon as you cross the pond. If it was when you hit the host network, te1-1.cer03.dal01.dallas-datacenter.com , I could have them look at it. They will tell me it's not on their network.

The clear message to Brits is that you are not all that welcome in Texas!!

I am moving this thread to networking where it belongs rather than General Chat. I think it is lost that it was started by Bob12a as a little inquiry and 76 posts later here we are.

As I said before, I have my own site, which is hosted on a server in Dallas, and that also bottlenecks at the point of entering Dallas servers... not sure if it's a wide problem over there or just a coincidence :p
