Using 7" tablet to remotely control desktop?

Hey guys, microcenter had a deal over the weekend for a 7" android tablet so I purchased one for the main purpose of controlling my desktop's screen, problem I am running into is on the tablet I am only seeing 2/3 of my desktop's screen, if I change the desktop's resolution then I will need to readjust everytime I switch back to using the desktop, any ideas please?

 

Oh sorry, I am using Teamviewer. I just got off the phone with the Tablet Manufacturer, they said the Azpen Android tablet supports 800x480 Res, thing is, there's no way I can set my pc to that low Res.

 

it's the tablet's screen I think is the problem showing only 1/3 of my pc's screen now. I am thinking this is more a Teamviewer issue and not the tablet since I tried all different RES on my pc and same deal?

 

Seems like the tablet is the issue as that is an odd resolution number for a desktop.

 

I am attempting to try logmein but on the tablet when I try to connect it is asking for my pc's username and password, I know my pc's name but I don't know which password it is asking for, does this mean I should create a password for the windows login or it is asking for a network username and password?

 

No the user name and password for the desktop you are trying to access but if there is no password just click in the box and type nothing and move forward.

 

Thanks, works, problem is if to pay $49 for one year for logmein when I will only use it for 3 months and only on some saturdays, is there a software I can purchase for this?

Sorry I should have updated you guys here, I am trying out both VNC and Teamviewer, tried Splashtop, had a problem and their tech support is the worst but thanks for the link.

 

What specific android tablet is it?

 

Perhaps it is a conflict between JellyBean and his computer's OS

 

I am getting success with both Teamviewer and VNC but that is having both units in the same room, I have to test this with both unit being in different locations, will let you know.

I think it is now only a matter of signal strength Mike, as with a solid connection Teamviewer works all round the world.
