I am cross posting this onto Adobe groups but thought someone here might have
some insight as this is on a Win 2003 sp2 TS in app mode. I am upgrading
Acrobat Pro vers 6 to version 9 and Reader 8 to version 9. Some users can
launch no problem, others get a MS Visual C++ Library Runtime Error - "this
application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."
Then after clicking ok a new dialog box: "The exception unknown software
exception (0x40000015) occured in the application a location 0xetc"
I also get an error in the application log, very generic:
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Application Error
    Event Category: (100)
    Event ID: 1000
    User: N/A
    Description:
Faulting application Acrobat.exe, version 9.0.0.332, faulting module
    msvcr80.dll, version 8.0.50727.1433, fault address 0x000046b4.

Troubleshooting: Uninstalled all adobe products, deleted leftover folders,
searched on adobe and deleted registry entries, ran their cleaner wincs3clean
    then reinstalled. Same problem.

Has anyone seen any problems like this with Acrobat?

That sounds really promising, I'll give it a try.

Although, the first time I tried this with reader 9 only I could have sworn
on a stack of bibles and korans I upped it before uninstalling and reloading
version 8. I didn't yesterday when I put in acro pro.
