Hello, Im having this problem where someone is using software or a website to steal or jack my password no matter how many times I change it. Is there a way I create a password that is completely unreadable, even for me with software or a website or something. thank you I dont know what part of the message board to ask this questions. This problem is driving me crazy.

The person doing this is no computer expert and neither am i. No programming skills or anything, shes using some sort of password cracker/jacker its for my school accounts and I cannot change anything but my password....everything else is supposedly impossible to change. She is going to take it further eventually and i want it stopped.

    Hi Sumsum, welcome to CHF.

This is something that needs to be looked at by our resident malware expert (Starbuck). It's the middle of the night for him now, but you can expect him to come along within the next 12 hours or so.

Is this a shared computer or is it personal to you. And also, how do you know it's a female. Can you give us a little more detail regarding what type of account has been hacked, if in fact that is what has happened. Please give more detail..

This is a member of my family who has basically stolen my idendity and is sharing my personal information with everyone I know. She is an older relative of mine and she is sharing it dozens of people so im constantly being reminded of it. She gets my security question and answer along with my password, Iv contacted authorities they have yet to respond though. I dont even the same computer I use a laptop, but im sure that has nothing to do this, she is using software or another means with my unchangeable information to get my password and security question. Its a bad situation and they are trying to provoke it into violence. and it may happen. (many things going on if this is stopped im sure it will subside) (and me logging in at another location deos not stop her)

    thank you

I'm sorry to hear that you are having these problems with a family member. What type of account is being/has been hacked. Is it a bank account, or maybe a Facebook account...?

Please forgive me, but I am still a little confused...If you are a student who has some sort of account that is tied to your school, then another option would be to report this to a member of the teaching staff, preferably someone who works in the IT administration.

Ive done that alrealdy, they can't do anything about it apparently, this is just one of the things she has done to me and the most persistent. Im a college student who has no privacy with my accounts and records and she could possibly do something such as drop me from my courses and whatnot. She is going attempt to go into my bank account using the same method, even though i don't believe she would steal my money, as i would know immediately.... i'm trying to stop the harassment.

If this is indeed a school Account, then the school can issue you with a New Account and Password.

If this is say a Facebook School Account or similar, then the School cannot help you.

Is this a Facebook School Account, sumsum.

If this is the case then the school can do nothing about it.

Time to get your Parents involved to sort this one out.

Unfortunate this situation is a lot worse than im making it seem (and i wont share all of that here) with a lot of hatred behind it, I'm an adult student with a real identity theft problem, and the situation is actually escalating to a high level where many threats have been made that are directly related to actions this lady is making. I'm really trying to get authorities involved in this situation but I cant prove that they are in my accounts; but i know they are being hacked been confirmed many times. The school is completely unable to fix this problem they tell me to change my password every time it occurs, cant change user name(which is the easy solution).

Im looking into all kinds of ways to stop this. Im looking for some sort of encryption type password utility that is dynamic and changing....or something to stop them from retrieving a readable password and security answer.

When you say "This Lady" and in another post you say it is a "member of your Family." This certainly is confusing.

When you say you need a "Username" that denotes a website.IMO and not a School Account at all.

Without more detail which both PSEFrank and I have asked for, and you say you are not prepared to divulge anymore, little more we can help you with.

Maybe another member can help you, however on the scant information supplied, I have run out of answers.

I wish you luck in solving your situation. :)

http://www.hcc fl.edu/hawk net.aspx is the website without spaces, a local community college, unstable way of communication, This is the website she is hacking at the moment...yeah.. the campus cruiser and web advisory parts of this website are what im trying to protect. She has really stopped going into the others and just hacks this system now.

I want to input a new password and new security question-------and when she/they try to retrieve it they get something else... perhaps some random string or something. I input my user name and password into a form and the password appears in the ***** format. sorry if its hard to understand. they are cracking the system somehow...

It took 3 hrs of our valuable time for you to admit it was a Web based School account. [IMG]

You need to contact their Help Desk again and tell them there has been a serious Security breach, and you must have a new Account.

Don't take no for an answer.

Contact Help Desk: 813-253-7000 extn. 4357.

They also say to change your password from Student ID to a personal Password immediately.

As far as encrypting Usernames and Passwords,it is possible however I have had no experience in this area.

If the person concerned is monitoring your key strokes with a keylogger and I say IF, then scan your machine with your antivirus then with a malware program, they may pick it up. If you want to change the password so that anybody using a keylogger cannot read it then use the onscreen keyboard, this will only show up as mouse clicks so basically if you use it to change your password and to logon then it wont be detected. How you access the onscreen keyboard will depend on which version of windows you are using but try All Programs/Accessories.

Further to the advice given in the preceding post,

most modern Keyloggers can read Virtual Key strokes.

They deposit themselves on the software receiving end.

While it may help I don't think it's bullett proof.

If you want the on screen Keyboard in WINDOWS7 type OSK in the search box and hit enter.

If you use Firefox there is an addon which beats keyloggers called KeyLogger Beater. You can read more and download it here: http://www.toptip.ca/2010/05/firefox-extension-keylogger-beater.html

Before there is another post in this thread there needs to be a far better explanation than has been given. After figuring out the faulty link, I have been led to what appears to be a respectable group of community colleges in Florida.
That, my friend, is where you lost me. I know of no legitimate college or university in the United States that does not issue student Id's or know who their students are. So I have a question for you.

Are you the one being hacked or are you looking for tips on how to become the hacker. This entire topic is fishy (phishy) to me.

It is time you are either more forthcoming or simply drop the subject.

If you are the victim of identity theft then call the police. This college will have an IT department and they will be able to protect your account.

I have gone through the entire US education system as have all my children. Now convince me that you are legitimate.

If you are legitimate post the logs as indicated in step 4 of this LINK and wait for a malware expert to see if there is something on your computer itself that is allowing this "identity Theft" to occur.

a member of my family is braking into my school accoutns with my student number and user id. They are using to them to retiriveve my username and security question. I dont use the same computer as her she is doing it just being using a software of freeware password cracker i believe. This is a part of a SERIES of problems i have been having for the past year or or so. Im not sure if suppose to be in the malware section, but this particular infraction is infuriating me and i feel like im going to snap because of the pure ostracism . Is it possible that she can use a keylogger even though I dont use the same computer at all?

I want to STOP someone from using a password cracker, even if it bars my own entry. This situation is really ruining my life and i spend too much time thinking about. The school cannot change my ids because it is impossible just like changeing a social security number or something.

I'm totally legit and serious that why im so persistent with my questions.

again, if I'm in the wrong section please point me in the right direction thank you

I have given you a next step in the post above. Post the log as I indicated and we will make certain that a Malware Removal Expert will take a look at it. Without seeing what may be infecting your computer there is nothing we can do for you.

If someone has hacked your account, we are not even sure whether the hacking took place at your end or at the school. This is the only logical first step.

My friend you came here for help and we have offered it to you. If you do not want to post the logs then there is nothing we can do for you. Malware has a very broad meaning.
