Unattended installaiton of Windows Server 2008

Discussion in 'Windows Home Server' started by Svein Ingebrigtsen, May 9, 2009.

  1. Helllo all,
I am having this problem with an unattended installation of Windows Server
    2008 in an VmWare environment.
We are running WDS and the unattened file is produced with Windows System
    Image manager.
I have two unattened files - one for the WinPE section and one for the Image
    installation.

The problem is that I want to add two disks, and the two disks are added in
the first "system" unattened file, in the WinPe section.
The first, System disk is added just fine, formatted and holds the
    installation of Win Server 2008.
The second disk is also added just fine - but when the installation has
finished - I check and this disk is Offline.
That means that it cannot be used during the unattended installation.
But everything is set up fine according to my unattended script, so when I
right click the disk and choose "Online",
the disk comes online with every settings ok - including formatting and
    drive letter.
I have tried "all" combinations - but to no use -the second disk always
    comes "Offline".

    Regards
    Svein Ingebrigtsen
