Trouble with MediaFace 5.0

Hello to all,
I have a Dell 2400 Inspirion, 2 GB memory running Windows XP Home Edition with FP 3.
The problem I am having is with MediaFace 5.0 full version. The Advanced mode is what I am having problems with. I can click on advanced mode and try to add an image and I get this message “The Parameter is incorrect”. Their (Neato) tech support said he thought it was a permissions issue and tried to repair it remotely but the PC does not respond real fast using the remote access. Does anyone have any idea how to correct this error? I know the software is good because I have the same setup on another PC upstairs and it works like it was designed too.

Hi katman,
First time I have heard of this software so looked it up and seems a neat label maker from the descriptions.
So, whenever there is a problem with software in situations like this, I have to ask did it ever work correctly on this computer?
If so, is there any other software or external hardware which needs drivers, such as a printer of different make, that is not on the computer where it does work OK. It may be a driver or other software conflict causing your problem.

If it did work OK and the fault is reasonably recent, I suggest trying a system restore back to a time when it did work OK. If that restore removes a recently added item of software or hardware, be aware that reinstalling it may cause the problem to return.

The software in the advanced mode never worked on the PC since installation. I have un-installed two times with Neato tech support help ,ran their cleaner per their instructions and re installed and still will not work in Advanced mode. Their tech support tried to access the PC remotely and make changes but due to ISP speed on my end this did not work either. He was trying to change the permissions on some register values. Any suggestions and help appreciated.

Hi again, OK, have a good look at the computer it does work OK on and compare the two computers, is there any difference in software installed, that includes firewall and anti-virus software.

If there is no difference, try disconnecting from the internet first, (important) and then disable both anti-virus and firewall.
I have seen odd conflicts due to the firewall or anti-virus preventing part or all of a program from running.

Try that and let us know,
