So I have an old macbook that has a hard drive maxed out with music of mine. After years, I'm finally motivated enough to pull the music off and put it on my PC. There are plenty of great tutorials on how to transfer libraries using an external hard drive.

My problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to transfer the library to include things like play lists, date added, times played, ect. I've tried a few things, but can't get it to transfer that data. I'm losing patience because it takes hours to move the music to a new hard drive. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Hello and Welcome CRozek,

Try moving the entire iTunes folder, not just the music, the entire folder to your PC.

Hold down the Alt key while starting iTunes. That will prompt iTunes to ask you to navigate to your iTunes folder. Navigate to your folder you just copied over. Everything should come over.

If that doesn't work, you can at least move your Playlists over using the File menu. In the Library section, use the Import Playlist and Export Playlist functions.
