This is mainly a question for Cindy "Allheart55" since I know she uses Tor browser. I have noticed that since using Tor that my other browsers, Chrome and Opera, have slowed down considerably when browsing. It takes 10+ mins just to pull up junomail and its the same no matter what site I visit. Could it be that the special "bridges" I have to use with Tor slow down the other browsers. Its no big deal to me as I plan to keep using Tor, I'm just curious. Thanks....Dave

I don't think so, Dave. I use Internet Explore when I'm not using Tor and I haven't noticed a bit of difference. Then again, I don't use bridges with Tor, so I'm not sure. I'm sorry I couldn't be of any help. Maybe someone else with more experience with Tor might be able to chime in here.

This is a bit of a stab in the dark, but don't chrome and opera collect and store browsing history, one of the reasons being to cache pages to increase speed? So by not using them so often your effecting the way they work, and they would or might be updating there cached pages, might be worth deleting the history and seeing if that has any effect on speed?

I don't see how deleting the history would help that as the browser is set to do that any way at some level. We used to think that raising that level as high as possible would help, but I am not longer sure that is logical because again the browser does clean itself at some point anyway. Can't help you with Tor browser as I don't use it and have had so many issues with the existing browsers I made a decision years ago not to try things I have never heard of in browsers.

I also use Tor some time. I don't think it affects other browsers.

Are you also using any vpn software like hotspot shield?

Please check your internet speed http://www.speedtest.net/. It is probably your internet connection that is slow and not reliable as discussed in your previous topics.

I have used TOR and it didn't affect my other browsers whatsoever.

I think as Umar suggested, it's probably Dave's internet connection that's causing the slowness.
