Excuse me if I'm wrong, but I thought it wasn't "politically correct" to post the same stuff on more than one forum??? Or does that merely apply to pc problems? No offence meant, but want to be clear on it.

LOL! The only thing that I consider truly politically incorrect is the whole concept of political corectness... ;)

If only you knew how much debate their has been here on this subject :)

    as regards PC problems :)

on a lot of forums if they find you are posting your issue on other forums they will close and discontinue your thread, here we decided after some debate that we do not own your problem, and so do not have exclusive rights to fixing it, :) with the exception of the malware forum for technical reasons in removing malware. However we do consider it polite, useful if you keep us informed on what advice has been given or tried from other forums, obviously this helps us, and saves time, and avoids confusion, were not daft if we tell you to carry out a procedure that takes 30-40mins and you post back 5 minutes later you've done it, we think no you haven't so stop wasting our time. where as if you'd have told us you'd already tried that, and it didn't work then we can work with that information saving us and yourself time.

    hope that clears that up.

Now for the none technical posts

once you make a public post on a forum it becomes the property of the forum, if you want payment or royalties for a post you should make sure a legal contract is in place to start with. now in such cases, if you own a web page and pay for the content your going to be pretty unhappy about people copying it for free, however if you do copy it and give credit to the author/website it was copied from in the form of a link or writing you tend to negate a lot of the copyright laws, however the owner is still within their rights to ask for payment or removal.

If its your material then it's up to you what you do with it :) give it to one site or a thousand sell it if you want, its yours. :)

in the case of YouTube and similar site's :) the original up loader gave it to YouTube, who make their money from sharing it, hence the links, and ease of linking to it.

so to answer you question, nothing to do with political correctness more to do with the copyright laws, and I hope my simplified understanding of them helps you understand :)

I couldn't agree more. Regarding posting on more than one forum, I would never post a problem on more than one forum at a time, the first forums members should be given the chance to reply. As regards posts like the dancers, I see no harm whatsoever in sharing such a display with as many people as possible. It is too good to be the subject of PC. I make NO apologies for the post.

Thanks for clearing things up, Match. Don't want to fall foul of the forums, lol.

I agree with you, 'andsome, when you say it wouldn't be fair to post a problem then not give folk on a forum chance to investigate and reply to your problem before taking it to a different forum. Defo bad form and bad manners :dnc:
