Now the storm is over or very nearly, I hope all returns to normal or at least near normal as soon as possible.
A great shame the replica ship has been lost, but it would be hard to have a mutiny on one of these.
Too darned good to be refusing to have one.

We saw the devastation that happened to so much of Staten Island on the news last night - what a horror for so, so many! Our coverage isn't what it should be, I'm sure, but suspect the damage is dreadful in many other areas too - the fury of a storm is truly terrifying.

Our power was finally restored a little after 6 this evening. (Power out approximately 93 hours.) We are some of the lucky ones.... My daughter and
my sister are still without power. They don't expect my sister's power to be restored until late Sunday or early Monday. PECO has no "guesstimation"
for when my daughter's power may be working.

Some heart breaking pictures of Seaside. My family has been frequenting the Jersey Shore since I was a child. We have been vacationing there with
our children as well as grandchildren. In addition to weekly summer vacations we took many day trips, usually 2 or 3 times a month in the summer
time. The devastation is so widespread it is hard to imagine.

Two very special places to me as well Cindy. That is my childhood and my adolescence just washed away with the tide. Very very sad!

Thanks for the graphic images, Cindy.
So sad looking at the aftermath.
I think it was the Governor who said "We will rebuild but it will never be the same"
    How true.

Thanks for sharing those pics Cindy - it brings it home just how powerful that storm was.
It may have wrecked some of the structures - but at least you and yours are safe :)
