    Surprise!

After reboot I noted no new update asked, but I don't know if it
depends on you or on another method another user suggested to follow,
    that is:

    - net stop wuauserv
    - c:\windows\softwaredistribution renamed to old..
    - net start wuauserv
    - wuauclt /detectnow

I'm afraid simply that the softwaredistribution folder was corrupted
and letting to Windows to re-create it solved my issue.

Thanks a lot for your patience,

  3. Massimo,

The timestamp on the Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms.dll file is now correct, as
is the file size - not sure why you wouldn't be seeing the right version number,
but since WU is now behaving I wouldn't worry about it.

    I don't have ReportViewerLP.exe either, just ReportViewer.exe. I assume this
depends on which OS you are running or some other factors.

I don't think the SoftwareDistribution folder was the problem, because it
doesn't affect manual installs. In any case, the important thing is that it is
now working! Glad to hear you got it sorted, and thank you for letting us know.

    Harry.
