I agree, Rich. I find 500 GB Hard Drives a nice size and if I need more space I install another 500 GB Hard Drive.
I also find 120 GB SSD's are ample for the OS if data kept on another drive.
Only drawback is the 120 GB SSD's normally have a slower Read and Write speed than the 500's so I buy 500 GB SSD's.
Waiting for the M.2 PCIe bootable Drives here and a decent price.
The speeds are incredible I have read.

I don't bother testing anything Cindy and Rich says as the are very experienced and credible and I take their word as Gospel.
Other Techies maybe if I have the time.

Dougie, You might be waiting for the M.2 PCIe drive quite a while. They are not generally available here. There are some M.2 SATA drives and a few boards that support them. ASRock has a board that supports either and ASUS has very nice 97 and X99 boards that support PCIE drives.

Hi Bill. Must check which boards I have supports PCIE Drives. The last 3 builds I used ------Fatality ASROCK 990fx Killer -----ASROCK Z97 Extreme 4 ------- Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 7.
I must check which one will support. I think the Gigabyte board should.

Well thanks to you guys I did get the Crucial SSD and got it running, though it was a headache at first I didn't know you had to use what is called AHCI mode. I got that sorted . My original hard drive is a serial ata 1 terabyte hard drive. I was able to use the cloning software to get my operating system partition over to the SSD drive and I only had a few programs installed. I erased the standard hard drive after moving all of my stuff to backup on a USB drive so now I can use the regular hard drive for storing things too.

On a side not how do you get a picture to show up in your account here? I mean the avatar thingy for the forums?

Hey glad to help and I am also a big fan of the Captain!
Crucial does not get good reviews for Ssd drives like they do for memory but I am happiest with Crucial Ssd drives
    myself.

Me to although I like Star Wars better overall. Nice that you were able to get your SSD up and running :) They do speed things up, especially nominal windows operations considerably.

I also prefer Star Wars but we have to realize one was developed for the wide screen and the other was developed for TV
so Star Wars is much higher tech!

That's what i'm saying! Don't go by the paid reviews test it yourself which you did. There is no such thing as 'gospel' there is only you and the skill you have and your own thoughts. Nothing else matters.
