Should I Increase My Ram From Four To Eight GB?

    Seth.......I finally acquired the SSD. Would appreciate information on installing it & the "Mini Tool Partition Wizard".

    Have you hooked it up yet? If not, shut down the computer and connect the ssd to an extra sata and power cable. That dell probably doesn't have any extra sata and power connectors, so temporarily use the optical dive's connectors. Start the computer up and see if it appears in "Computer" or File Explorer. If it doesn't, you'll have to initialize or format the drive in Disk Management.

    Following all that, download the free version (not pro) of Mini Tool from here:

    https://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html

    Run Mini Tool and choose Disk Clone. Choose your source disk, then the destination disk, then click Apply at the top left. Once it completes, shut down, disconnect the old drive and replace it with the ssd, then connect the optical drive.

    That's it :)

    Before trying your instructions.......I have thirty icons on my desktop. Each icon has folders with various url's. Can i copy the thirty desktop icons onto a usb stick or memory disc? I ask this in case i screw up your instructions & i have a desktop backup.

    If you mean disc as in an optical disc, then memory stick.
