    My Vista shortcuts don't work.
A right-click and properties and find target will take me to the application.

Have run several short-cuts fix apps and have rebooted many times.

Will run sfc /scannow from a command prompt (right click and run as administrator), then reboot.
    (Just thought of that....)

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Have you run the MS Fixit program? It will fix problems with shortcuts that aren't working or broken.

Do you currently use by any chance or have you used recently a registry cleaner? A corrupted registry
will often damage desktop shortcuts. We never recommend the use of reg. cleaners except in the most
    severe cases.

    What it fixes:
    • Problems with desktop shortcuts and icons
    • Shortcuts on the desktop don't work or are broken
    • Desktop icons are broken or have not been used in 3 months
    • Startup items don't work or are broken
