    Just seen on the UK news that the Sydney area of Australia is or has suffered extreme storms with three dead. I hope Dougie is OK.

    When I spoke with Dougie, he said that they had 135 KPH winds, 7 inches of rain and that the off shore waves were reaching 11 meters.
    He said there has been terrible damage and some 20,000 homes have been destroyed.

    Yes I am safe thankfully but so much damage up and down the coast. Winds here have eased with gusts up to 100klms p/h now. The rain is relentless.
    Watch the video further down in this link as a house gets washed away.
    Famous Bondi beach is a mess and will need a lot to repair. All beaches have suffered.
    The road I take my Wife to work is under 12 ft of water in one spot.

    I can't put in words what I felt looking at the video and photos. The news I've seen here at home shows just the tip of what is reported in those articles.

    In one photo I saw where the sand had been blown up off the beach, the scene looked like one of our heavier winters with snow drifts. That in itself is going to be a heck of a big clean up to get the sand back on the beach.
    Also video of a house floating off in flood water, I thought we had it bad in the south west the other year with storm tides flooding vast area's, however the flooding there is incredible.

    Hi. Well today is much better and no wind and sun trying to peak out.
    Looks like it has moved on. That is one of the worst storms I have encountered.
    The wind and rain so loud and the windows rattled the whole time.
    I thought any minute our windows would be blown in.
    Mother nature wasn't kind this time.
    I feel for those less fortunate.

    That is seriously bad hail, one report said some were two centimetres which is a small tad over three quarters of an inch. Get hit with one that size and you would be pretty sore.

    I stayed inside and watched it. Our yards were 4" deep in hail.
    Would not have liked to be out in it.
